How to send your submissions from a non-Gmail address
Sending Submissions from Your Preferred Email Address! 📧
Good news! While Repunzel uses Google's mail service to handle emails, you can absolutely use your preferred Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud, or custom domain address. This guide will walk you through setting up Repunzel to work with your non-Gmail email.
Step 1: Start with a Gmail Account
First, you'll need a Gmail account to work with: Feel free to use an existing Gmail account or create a new one (Don't worry, you will not be sending through this address so you can give it whatever username you want.)
Step 2: Connect Your Preferred Email
→ Go to your Gmail Settings by clicking on the gear icon ⚙️ and then click on "See all settings".
→ Under the Accounts tab you should see a setting called "Check Mail from other Accounts".
→ Your submissions won't show this address, so your preferred email remains front and center
→ Click "Add a mail account" and add your non-Gmail email address using Gmailify.
Step 3: Set Up Gmailify
Here's where we connect your accounts:
- Enter your non-Gmail email address
- Follow the prompts to set up Gmailify
- When prompted, log into your non-Gmail account
- Grant Gmail permission to access your non-Gmail account
- Complete any verification steps that appear
Step 4: Verify the Connection
Let's make sure everything is properly linked:
→ Return to the "Accounts" tab in Gmail settings
→ Confirm your non-Gmail account appears under "Check mail from other accounts"
→ Also check that it appears under the "Send mail as" section
Step 5: Connect with Repunzel
You're almost done:
- Now, go to app.repunzel.com and log in using your non-Gmail account credentials.
- Send yourself a test email. You should see that your email was sent by your non-Gmail address.
Congratulations! Repunzel will now send submissions from your preferred email address. 🙌
