# Should I follow up with agents after my submission?

It depends on whether the agent opened your email, and whether you have something new to tell them.

**Agents who opened your email**

We recommend holding off on following up with these ones. If they opened your materials but didn't respond, they've likely made their decision for now. No need to push — there are plenty more opportunities ahead.

**Agents who didn't open your email**

These are worth following up with. Agents are busy and inboxes get crowded — your email may have simply been missed. A gentle nudge could be all it takes to get your materials in front of them.

**How to follow up**

Send a short, friendly email manually from your own Gmail account. Keep it brief and reference your original submission — something like *"Just checking in on my submission from \[date\]"* works perfectly.

Persistence — within reason — is part of the industry. Many actors landed their representation after a well-timed follow-up.
