Legal & Compliance

When sending submissions through Repunzel, you are responsible for following basic email outreach and compliance standards. Since emails are sent through your Gmail account, the messages are coming directly from you.

CAN-SPAM basics

The CAN-SPAM Act sets rules for commercial email in the United States. While actor submissions are professional outreach rather than traditional marketing, it’s still good practice to follow basic guidelines.

A compliant submission email should:

  • Clearly identify who you are
  • Avoid misleading subject lines
  • Include accurate contact information
  • Respect opt-out requests

Keeping your emails professional and transparent helps maintain trust and deliverability.

Opt-out handling

If someone replies asking not to receive future emails, you should respect that request.

The easiest way to do this is to move that contact into the Excluded tab so they are not included in future Submissions.

What happens if a rep requests removal

If a representative asks to be removed from future outreach:

  • Move the contact to Excluded in your current Submission
  • Leave them excluded in future Submissions as well

This ensures they will not receive additional emails from your account through Repunzel.

How to permanently exclude a contact

To prevent a contact from receiving future submissions:

  1. Find the contact in your list
  2. Click Exclude
  3. Leave them in the Excluded tab for future Submissions

Once excluded, they will not receive emails unless you manually move them back into Included.

Following these basic practices helps keep outreach respectful and compliant for everyone using the platform.
